Announcing Blockheadz NFT & Roadmap
Everyone welcome to a new flavor for that NFT PFP game you’ve been itching for! Blockheadz is here to fill that void and it’s all that and a bag of chips! We , the early contributors to the Blockheadz platform, are excited to have you here with us!
Blockheadz is a creation from two of our early founders who were sitting one day thinking about how to build a personal NFT that spoke our language. We wanted something that would take us back and give us the magic we used to feel growing up.
Do you remember those days (if you are old enough) when things were magic? Do you remember when hearing that song on the radio gave you goosebumps and made you jump for joy? Why was that? It was because you were able to feel the magic of technology but couldn’t own it. You could hear the wonderful sound of the synths, but you couldn’t download the song on-demand. Those were the days. When technology mixed with entertainment could really make magic. We want to bring you back to that time and that’s why we created Blockheadz.
What is Blockheadz?
Blockheadz is a collection of 10,000 high quality art images on the Ethereum blockchain. We have worked with our team of artists to create the most beautiful NFT Profile images that capture the technology and the look and feel of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.
Our avatars are made up of humanoid bodies with a technological device head. Our primary devices used to depict our avatars heads and minds are music devices: Boom Boxes in particular. However we do have a line of high-quality rare Blockheadz made up of old entertainment, communication, and musical device systems.
One of the key hallmarks to the art we deploy for our Avatars, and one we hope you will notice immediately are THE COLORS. We made painstakingly sure that each of the components that went into the images of our avatars used high-quality renders that have colors that really POP. We hope you’ll notice.
Beyond the beautiful art, we have also cooked up some very novel blockchain twists with our amazing Solidity development team. In particular if our project reaches 100% mint we plan to create an accessory system that brings new life to our communities NFTs adding an additional layer of interaction and depth to our art (more on this below).
Mint (October 23rd, 2021)
As the first step towards building a movement where music and blockchain come first the community founders will be holding a initial mint of the Blockheadz NFTs on October 23rd. Please keep close attention to our #announcements section on Discord for an exact time.

Roadmap
The Blockheadz roadmap will consist of 5 key milestones that can be hit dependent on how much of the initial mint occurs. We have broken these milestones out into percentages moving all the way through 0% up through 100% in 20% increments. For each one of these roadmap items if we hit the mint target the community founder team will work with community members to execute on each item. You will notice that as % of mint increases for each milestone, the goal becomes more and more impactful. Specifically the milestones are made up of:
20% — Charitable Donation to Girls Who Code
If the project hits 2,000+ mints we will make a donation to the Girls Who Code charity. A awesome charity helping to diversify our developer community to include half of the human population! Doesn’t sound too bad. Our team knows how important this is from experience given that a) we have no females on our development team and b) have loved ones that hope follow in their parents footsteps.
40% — Liquidity Provided to NFTX
We will provide liquidity to the project as is key to any healthy and mature project in the Decentralized Finance ecosystem including one of our favorite genre for art collectors (and those who would flex on others ).
60% — Exclusive Blockheadz T-shirt for first 1,000 claims
At 6000+ or greater mints of our project’s NFTs is when things really start heating up. We are going to work with a textile manufacturer to help us produce exclusive merchandise specifically for the Blockheadz community. We will allow 1,000 community members who own a Blockheadz NFT to claim a free T-shirt with the Blockheadz NFT print (first come first serve, not including shipping). We have checked with other projects and even though we won’t be covering the full 10,000 NFTs that were produced we are confident this will hit most of the community who wants it as other projects typically end up getting less than 1,000 claims for merchandise.
80% — Community Grant Funding
When we are 8000+ mints and above is when our project is really at a different level. There is enough community investment and involvement at this point that we want to make sure we up-level our community holders with special capabilities. In this case we want to take our communities ideas and help run with them. We will be using funds from a treasury that is setup to help setup grants for the community to help further the project. This could be anything from commissioning artists to create companion NFTs that we airdrop to community holders all the way to creating brand new games that only Blockheadz NFT holders can participate in.
100% — Accessory System, Mix Tapes & Animation
The crown jewel of the project roadmap is where we hit 10000 mints and we have a full blown sell out for our project. For this we have cooked up something very special. If we hit the 100% milestone we will lockup in our treasury the funds to create a full blown accessory system!
What this means specifically is that we will commission artists and music producers to create Mix Tape NFTs. Each Mix Tape NFT comes with a special power to unlock your Blockheadz NFT to the next level. When combined on our website platform a Mix Tape NFT and a Blockheadz NFT will combine to create a new Blockheadz NFT that includes an animated background as well as plays a custom retro MIDI music!
We are targeting 3–6 month timeline to execute on our roadmap should we hit 100% mint and are already in talks with our artist and developers around the accessory system.
